MOOSERIDER MEETING MINUTES
MOOSE LODGE 5
SUNDAY, APRIL 29, 2012
The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Todd Knight.
Attendance: There were 9 members present.
OLD BUSINESS:
First Ride: The first ride on April 28th went very well. We had a couple non-members join us on the ride, and one of them signed up. A good time was had by all. Pictures have been posted on Facebook.
Drawing Tickets: Todd announced that sales have been going well, and we will continue to keep selling. The drawing will be held at the Poker Run Party. After some discussion about drawing tickets, it was decided that it was too late to make any lists for the Lottery Ticket Board Drawing, since it was well underway. Since the group discussed not wanting to incur extra expenses, a motion was made to just use the double roll tickets on the next drawing of that nature. Vote passed. Purchasers will write their names on the back of the ticket for a drawing, and keeping the second ticket only as their “receipt”. It will not be needed in order to claim the prize, unless a name isn’t on the back of the ticket drawn.
Toys for Tots: A definite date has not been set for Toys for Tots. We will discuss this at the next meeting. A few ideas were tossed around for a ride to either Madison or elsewhere.
NEW BUSINESS:
Poker Run: The Poker Run is scheduled for May 19th. The starting time will be revised, and announced soon. Todd has a meeting scheduled with another potential sponsor, and
will map out and time the checkpoints soon. There will be a meeting for Poker Run Volunteers working checkpoints, on Thursday, May 17th at 7:00 pm at the Moose Lodge. The volunteers listed are Carol, Ed, Connie, Mike, Jerry R., Mr. Jerry K (?), and Barb/Todd. Todd announced that our lodge would like to know, by May 10th approximately how many of the Poker Run participants and volunteers plan to eat the pork chop dinner at the lodge that evening.
Membership: Three new members joined – David Walton, John Hornung, and Eric Houston. That brings our current membership to 34 members.
50/50 Carry-Over Drawing: There was discussion about putting a “cap” on the total of money collected for the 50/50 Carry Over Drawing. A motion was made to cap it out at $599 to the winner. At the point that $599 is in our give away pot, a “ticket” with a number on it will keep being drawn until there is a winning number. The drawing is held at our regular monthly meetings (usually the last Sunday of each month). Shane, the bartender, was asked to draw out a number for today’s drawing, and it was #90. That number had been purchased by Todd, and he won $118.
Next Meeting: Sunday, May 20th 4:00 p.m.
